I got severely burnt out from all the makeups I was making for SmitCo. So.... naturally, I switched to other texture works. Because what else was I gonna do.... MESH?! Hah!!!
Nah, but seriously, I wanted to work on cute things. I discovered NutBusterz store and fell in love with their gacha avatar, Maneki Neko. I made an entire rainbow of colors, and was so proud of my first-ever product in my very own store - Nova Xanthe!
I had an absolute blast coming up with the designs for everything. Logo, typefaces, the vibe my store was gonna give off.... I'd change it up a lot over the next couple of years, and finally land where you see now.
Anyway, the Oster set was mostly about breaking free from a mold I'd put myself in. Letting myself go crazy and have fun with cutesy things and not have to worry about it negatively affecting the established brand of SmitCo.
Goals:
Express myself with cute styles, wacky colors, and play with a different avatar than human
Make my own brand
What I Learned:
Creating a brand is tons of fun
Switching things up is a great way to spark creativity and bring back motivation
Notes:
As NutBusterz has removed support for all of their avatars, I have retired all products intended for their respective avatars.
I think I only ever made personal skins for the Maneki Neko after this. I was in the Magik Pony 90% of the time after this set was released
