Eldrid Mane: June 2021

At this point, I wasn't finding any manes that I was falling in love with. With my newfound confidence, I decided to follow this tutorial by Sips (now known as Semi) to try my hand at making hairs.

Eldrid was inspired after braided Norse hairstyles, with a french braid in the center to keep the hair out of the face. Of course, I had no idea how to make braids at this time, so made separate strands.

At the time, Semi was also running a sim called Friesian Junction. It was basically pony Vikings, and I thought this would be a nice surprise to support the project.

Goals:

• Make an unrigged mane

What I Learned:

• You need Avastar to rig manes

• How to make multiple curves fit together nicely

• How to manipulate the radius of curves

• How to use the Magik Pony devkit

Notes:

• I've been thinking about remaking this using the skills I have now, though for the Open Pony

• I used the default hair shape provided in the dev kit
