Where I Finally Got Started: September 2020

In Summer of 2020, I really got into photography in SL. I was doing some outfit of the day photoshoots, going out and exploring - having a great time! I wasn't quite finding the poses I wanted, so I got Animare - a hud and pose stand system that let you create animations in-world. It wasn't the easiest to use, and didn't have the best bento hand animation options, but I made it work for my uses.

I made a few pose sets using it, including La(d)y, Reach, Suits, and Pink Chill. About 20 animations total, and their mirrors. Making all those sets and selling them on 25L Tuesday gave me the motivation to actually start creating for real.

Goal:

  • Make poses for photography

  • Testing the waters with 25L Tuesday

What I Learned:

  • Learned to look at every angle, start getting an eye for 3D composition

  • Be careful when uploading so many things - all those 10L upload fees add up quick!

Notes:

  • I've since learned how to make poses in Blender, where making natural poses comes much easier.

  • I remember back then, I could really only make one set of things a week. I had to wait for 25L Tuesday sales to start coming in before I could start uploading more assets.
